At the Chocolate Lab, we work overtime to make sure you get the highest quality products and chocolate tasting experiences. Here are answers to some commonly asked questions.

What is a Chocolate Tasting? Where can I find one?
The Chocolate Lab occasionally hosts chocolate tasting sessions that compare a variety of chocolates. In a typical chocolate tasting, participants will taste anywhere from 4 – 8 samples of chocolate (each sample is 5 – 10 grams). The purpose of a chocolate tasting is to learn to distinguish the subtle flavor notes in each chocolate as well as learn to notice the different textures each chocolate may have and how that contributes to the overall tasting experience. Each tasting includes a brief introduction into how chocolate is made.

Where can I purchase your candy bars? Do you ship?
Our candy bars are for sale in our shop at 2425 Desoto Avenue in Savannah, Georgia. We also sell them at other retail locations in the Savannah area. For more information, visit the Find Our Bars page. We are currently working on an online shop and hope to have it up by late summer.
What kind of ingredients do you use in your candy bars?
We strive to use as many local, Organic, Fair-Trade, and American Made ingredients as possible. We currently use ingredients from the following producers:
Wholesome Sweeteners, TCHO, PERC Coffee, Southern Swiss Dairy, Askinosie Chocolate, Stone Mountain Pecan, B&G Honey, Divine Chocolate
Do you make Sugar Free / Vegan / Gluten Free Candy Bars?
While some of our candy bars are Gluten Free (any without shortbread / cookie bases – which will be marked), we currently do not offer Sugar Free or Vegan candy bars. We are working on a few vegan options for the future but currently do not have a release date for those. We have no plans to offer a Sugar Free candy bar.
We do work with the National Confectioners Association to educate the public about guidelines to healthy / moderate candy consumption. For more information about that, visit their website here
How long do your candy bars keep?
We don’t use any preservatives in our bars – only the freshest ingredients. Candy bars are good 2 months from the date stamped on the front of the package. Of course, the sooner you enjoy them, the tastier!
How should I store my candy bars?
Keep candy bars in a cool, dry, humidity free zone (70 degrees F is ideal). Refrigeration is not necessary. If you live in a very hot area and are worried about your chocolate melting (like in Savannah in the middle of summer!) you may refrigerate or freeze the bars in their packaging, just be sure to allow them to come to room temperature before enjoying (we don’t want any chipped teeth!).
